    The UAE government is gearing up for a comprehensive digital transformation.

    In the High Level Committee on Government Digital Transformation approved by the Cabinet

    Ohud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future, will preside.

    Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, will act as the vice-chairman of the committee.

    The committee will help streamline the use of infrastructure and digital assets. This will increase integration between government agencies and institutions.

    It will oversee and guide the development of a "digital ecosystem" for the UAE government. It will increase "readiness, competitiveness, flexibility and digital alignment" between projects and digital systems in federal government agencies.

    The committee will be responsible for providing guidance elements for strategic projects related to digitization of government services, business and operations to enhance efficiency.

    It aims to double the contribution of the digital economy to the country's GDP from 9.7 per cent to 19.4 per cent in 10 years. The plan includes more than 30 initiatives and programs targeting six sectors and five new areas of growth.
